Strong Passwords are critical to computer security and the first line of defence for user accounts. The following rules should be adhered to for the Insight Portal.

• Users must not reveal passwords or user names to anyone
• Promptly change passwords in the event they have been disclosed involuntarily or if there is any other reason to believe they have been compromised
• Do not re-use your last known password
• Choose passwords that cannot be easily guessed or derived from information about the user or system
• Do not construct passwords using a basic sequence of characters that is then partially changed based on the date or some other predictable factor
• Passwords must be a minimum of 10 characters long and contain the following:
  English Uppercase Characters (A-Z)
  English Lowercase Characters (a-z)
  Numerical Digit (0-9)
  Special Characters (# ? ! @ £ $ % ^ & * - _ ” < > . ,)
  
• Be careful when entering your password to ensure an un-authorised person doesn’t gain access to it
• Don’t write down passwords in intelligible form
